Maple Bourbon Sour
This is one of my favorite cocktails, the mixture of bourbon, lemon and maple syrup gives an intense flavor with a sweet smoky flavor. The optional egg whites in this recipe add a smooth creamy texture and a creamy froth on top of the cocktail, there is no eggy flavor, so I would recommend using them.
Yield (makes): 1
Prep time: 5 minutes
2 ounces (50 ml) Good Quality bourbon
1 ounce (25 ml) Maple Syrup
1 ounce (25 ml) Fresh Lemon Juice
Dash angostura bitters
1 teaspoon fresh free range egg white (optional)
Lemon twist to garnish
1. Place all of the ingredients apart from the lemon twist into a cocktail shaker and fill with ice
2. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds
3. Strain into a cocktail tumbler filled with ice
4. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel.
If you don’t have Bourbon you can also use regular whiskey
