Creamy Mango lassi
This is a delicious Indian version of a milkshake, it uses fruit pulp blended with fresh natural yogurt, a little cream and fresh milk, these milkshakes are very popular across Asia.
Yield (serves): 4
Prep time: 5 minutes
½ cup (120 ml) half and half/single cream
1 cup (240 ml) whole milk
2 cups (480 ml) natural unsweetened plain yogurt
2 cups (480 ml) mango pulp (canned is easier)
4 tablespoons white sugar
¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
1. Pour all of the ingredients into a blender and whiz until smooth and creamy
2. serve in tall glasses over ice with a slice of fresh mango to garnish
Mango pulp is often served in Asian grocery stores, this makes making these drinks very easy. If you don’t have mango pulp then simply use fresh mango flesh
Try making a strawberry lassie by substituting the mango pulp for 400 g or 2 ½ cups of fresh strawberries with their stalks removed.
